Description:
This course provides a base of knowledge from which to prepare students for a wide range of possible rescue operations. Instruction will include such topics as: risk and priority assessment, search and rescue, use of ropes and applicable knot systems, low angle rope rescue systems, establishment of landing zones and helicopter operations. Prerequisites: Students must be a member of a certified professional/volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency or by permission of the Program Director, Successful completion of Basic Firefighter, Firefighter I or equivalent is required for attendance.
