Description:
This course provides instruction in self rescue and trapped firefighter techniques used in modern fire service. This course will examine how to identify potential events which may cause firefighter disorientation and/or entrapment. Skills in rescue operations and safety techniques are stressed within this course. This course requires students to reform a number of practical evolutions wearing self contained breathing apparatus. Prerequisite: Students must be a member of a certified professional / volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency or by permission of Program Director. Successful completion of Firefighter I or equivalent and medical clearance is required for attendance. Campus and term: J occasionally
