This course provides solid indoctrination into Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) and its use. Students will have extensive hand-on training in relation to donning these essential pieces of equipment. Topics of study include: safety issues, search procedures, time computation, air supply, and emergency procedures. Prerequisites: Students must be a member of a certified professional/volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency, or by permission of the Program Director. SCBA Certified and physically capable of working with SCBA. Possess current medical clearance for SCBA use. Firefighter I, or its equivalent, must be completed prior to taking this course.
