This course provides an overview of the duties and responsibilities of a Fire Police Officers. This course meets the requirements outlined for all fire police by the General Municipal Law 209-c. The course includes such topics as defining and interpreting terms, oath of office, peace officer status, maintaining scene safety, traffic control and legal issues. Prerequisite: Students must be a member of a certified professional / volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency or by permission of Program Director. Successful completion of Firefighter I or equivalent or Scene Support Operations is required. Campus and term: J occasionally
