This course is the first in the series addressing the command and management within the contemporary fire service. This course gives prospective first line officers the skills necessary to effectively supervise fire companies. Special attention is given to the role of the company officer and the transition a first line officer makes from firefighter to supervisor. Prerequisite: Students must be a member of a certified professional / volunteer fire department, law enforcement agency or by permission of Program Director. Successful completion of Firefighter I or its equivalent is required. Campus and term: J occasionally
