Students will explore selected topics in the history of Southwestern New York, while introducing students to the variety of sources and methods historians use to interpret the past. Special emphasis will be given to the critical analysis of primary sources, including written material, images, artifacts, buildings, cultural landscapes, oral histories, and other firsthand evidence of life in the surrounding region.
