This course continues to build the students’ reading strategies of scanning, skimming, and clustering techniques. Identifying topics, main ideas, supporting ideas and making basic inferences are introduces and expanded on. Coursework will include building passive and active vocabulary from context, introduction of work families, distinguishing fact, and opinion, understanding vocabulary from context clues, decoding skills and recognizing transitions.
