This course examines the rich history and literature of Latin America¿s diverse Jewish communities. While exploring question of Jewish ethnicity and cultural identity , we will read about the experiences of first, second, third, and even fourth generation immigrants in late 19th and 20th century Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Chile, Mexico, and Bolivia. Taught in English. Prerequisites: Sophomore standing and one course in the humanities.
