This course concerns theory and research in adolescent development with emphasis on physical, cognitive, affective, and social changes that influence adolescents’ experiences and achievement in school. There is extensive application of this work to curriculum, instruction and assessment in secondary schools. Course is intended primarily for students seeking initial certification in secondary education, and requires 20 hours of classroom observations and participation in secondary schools.
