Description:
An examination of the process of creating nonlinear game and web-based narratives. Students will develop an idea for a nonlinear narrative -- which might be an original video game, a video game based on an existing literary property, or an idea for an online narrative -- and write parts of that narrative. Students will also compare existing video games adapted from other material to explore the basic principles of writing for video games and will examine the needs and expectations of the audience/viewer/player for immersive/interactive media and that of established media. Prerequisites: CNPH 23300. 4 credits. (S)
