A survey of the principal archaeological and historical developments in Canaan/Israel from the Neolithic period to the Babylonian Exile, with a focus on the origins and evolution of the Israelite people. Emphasis on the use of archaeological and historical data for the understanding of some major problems in Israelite history and archaeology.
