EE 87013 - Topics in Embedded Sensor and Control Networks

Institution:
University of Notre Dame
Subject:
Electrical Engineering
Description:
In order to build successful networked sensor and control systems novel questions and issues need to addressed that lie at the intersection of control, computing and communication networks and transcend the traditional problem formulations in those areas. The aim of this seminar type course will be to introduce advanced students into this multidisciplinary area of research. This course relies on significant student participation where students are also expected to read research papers and make class presentations. Topics include modeling of networked systems, distributed control and estimation, networked control systems, routing and localization algorithms, wireless communication issues, network fundamentals, and may vary depending on the background and interests of students. Computer simulation tools will be used and possibly hardware implementation will be required as part of course projects.
