An overview of the problems and factors involved in effective management of production and operating system facilities, and an exposure to the concepts of operations and technology management. Current issues, ideas and problems of interest found in production theory will be discussed. Students will be responsible to acquire an understanding of the following: inventory control, production planning, equipment replacement, quality assurance methods and production distribution. This course is strongly recommended to business majors who wish to pursue graduate study. Prerequisites: BU221; BU313; IS124. 3 credits.
