Examination of the relationship between research, theory and practice in the teaching of English as a Second Language. Analysis of instructional materials, evaluation instruments, learning environments and curriculum in relation to the development and individual experiences of limited-English-proficient students. 90 hour clinical experience in ESL. 90-hour clinical experience in ESL and traditional settings required for students pursuing initial certification. Prerequisite: BE401. 3 hours lecture, 90 hours (15 days) of clinical observation and participation; one semester; 3 credits.
