Fair and equitable treatment in housing and real estate transactions is a right by law. In this course, you'll focus on the mandatory fair housing issues real estate licensees must understand. The United State Congress and the New York State legislature have made it clear that ensuring equal access to housing is an important goal for our society. Real estate professionals need to know what conduct violates anti-discrimination laws to avoid potential liability. Here you will learn about federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws, problems that can occur from fair housing violations, and your duties and responsibilites to treat all clients fairly and equally under the law.
