This course emphasizes the basic mathematical competencies identified by the Pennsylvania Core Standards for Mathematics and the National Council of teachers of Mathematics as critical to math instruction for pre-kindergarten to fourth grade students. Students will examine methods and strategies essential in the instruction of number operations, geometry, measurement, data analysis, and algebraic concepts. Students will experience collaborative learning, direct instruction, and participate in required field experience assignments. Prerequisite: EDU 100
