This course provides the student with a comprehensive overview of the various clinical techniques used in family and group therapy. Students will learn to become more effective group leaders by learning to better identify content from process, work through transference and countertransference, and identify and work through resistance through in-class experiential exercises. Students will complete a critical analysis of the evolution of systems theory and family therapy. Major family theorists and theories will be reviewed in detail.
