Description:
Examines the reading, mathematical and language arts processes and methods of assessing these. A variety of educational assessment techniques are reviewed including norm-referenced tests, curriculum-based approaches, and informal probes, and systems of direct observation. The use of these techniques to assist in the identification of educational difficulties is examined. Approaches to interventions for educational difficulties are surveyed highlighting the link between assessment and remediation. Lab fee required.
