Topics may include the political, religious, literary, and artistic expression in Spain during the Arab occupation, the reconquest and unification, the colonization of the Americas, the Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties, the crisis of 1898, the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera, the Civil War, the Franco regime, and post-Franco Spain. Prerequisite: SPAN 206 or the equivalent.
