This course is a comprehensive study of the child welfare system and its services. The focus is on the history of child welfare as well as the current context in which child and family welfare services are developed and provided. Topics covered include adoption, child abuse and neglect, day care, foster care, juvenile delinquency and other child institutions. Case studies are presented. Prerequisites: SWK 200 or PSYC 101.
