This course is an introduction to the practice of social work with a focus on its concepts, history, knowledge base, values and skills necessary to begin a generalist social work practice. Emphasis is on fields and settings in social work as well as the values, ethics, knowledge and skills base that is unique to social work. (SWK 307-Fields of Social work-listed in the previous bulletin meets the minimum criterion for this course and is an acceptable substitute for credit.)
