A process approach to writing prose fiction. Special attention given to dialogues, narration, imaginative prose, and the short story. Point of view, characterization, tone, and style emphasized. Students discuss one another's prose in class and prepare a manuscript as a semester project. Readings in modern and contemporary fiction assigned. Prequisite: ENG 101, 102 with a grade of C or better.
