Based upon the Cognitive coaching(sm) model, this course helps to develop the maps and tools needed to mediate another's thinking act as mediators in the thought process of peers. Students will learn the foundational skills necessary for successful coaching and how the cognitive coach works to mediate another's perceptions, knowledge base and decisions as well as when and how to incorporate consulting and collaboration in their work, distinguish between coaching and evaluation, and will practice coaching interactions that are congruent with a variety of learning styles in an educational setting.
