Basic topics include a history of conservation biology, investigations of metapopulation dynamics, and genetic consequences of reduced biotic populations, restoration methods for ecological systems and an analysis of important policies. Course material will focus on the Appalachian region. Prerequisites: BIO 124, 125, 200, and 202.
