Some basic principles of epidemiology and a survey of some of the common infectious diseases caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoans, and other invertebrates, e.g. tetanus, syphillis, gonorrhea, influenza, scarlet fever, hepatitis, food-borne infections and intoxications, strep- tococcal diseases, etc. Strongly oriented toward students in microbiology track, health sciences and exercise physiology. Prerequisite: A basic course in microbiology.
