An advanced study of how young children develop language skills in early childhood and the primary grades. Developmental reading instruction, support, materials, and resources are included. Focus areas include theoretical foundations and methodological approaches needed to integrate children's developing skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Prerequisite: EED 210 or SPE 250. Not to be taken concurrently with EED 315. It is strongly recommended that EED 314 be taken prior to EED 315 in programs of study where both courses are required.
