Six or eight hours studio. (3-4) Prerequisites: DSNI 300, DSNI 320, DSNI 322, DSNI 350; 2.5 in-major GPA; or permission of instructor An introduction to facility programming, theory, and research. Emphasis on the formulation of building requirements based on user characteristics and potential constraints. An introduction to the theories that form the foundation for decision-making in interior design and the data collection methods that inform and impact the problem solving process. Various information-gathering techniques are examined.
