Three hours lecture. (AH) Art historians use a variety of critical methodologies in their work. The dominant theories of analysis have changed over time, sometimes in response to developments in other fields and sometimes in response to changes in art. This course will familiarize students with these theories and methods, focusing on the ways in which art historians arrive at their interpretations.
