Description:
An examination of alcohol abuse and dependency and its individual, familial and societal dysfunction. This course will serve as an introduction to theory and treatment methods. Issues of diagnosis, comprehensive treatment planning, the use of self-help groups and impact on family members will be addressed. Special emphasis will also be given to special client population needs such as women, African Americans, Hispanics, gays and lesbians, elderly and adolescents.
