This is the first half of a year-long course in Russian at the advanced level. While continuing to refine students’ oral proficiency in Russian, this course will devote increasing attention to the development of abilities in expository and analytical writing. In addition to an advanced manual in Russian grammar and syntax, course materials will be taken from a variety of contemporary sources and, increasingly, from the rich store of Russian literature and cinema.
