Lecture 3 hours; 3 credits. Prerequisite; SPED 400/500. The intent of this course is to provide pre-service and currently licensed teachers with: (a) knowledge of the characteristics of students with disabilities who are accessing the general curriculum, K-12, including, but not limited to LD, E/BD, ID; (b) the ability to recognize etiologies, underlying factors, and contributing conditions that impact student learning, and (c) the cultural impact of disabling conditions.
