The artist will present students with his complete process, beginning with the first contact, finding potential prospects, through all the steps culminating in a final artwork. Included will be: describing the process to potential clients, gathering material for the artwork, soliciting business owner's input, suggesting uses for the finished art, pricing the work, and explaining the benefits to the business. The unique qualities of a "family business", how to get started, how to plan and create a portfolio, and other related topics will also be discussed. Some art background a plus. The object of this course is to assist the student to develop a plan to create a product that will be paid for by businesses. This is a program to empower artists and creative entrepreneurs to explore the general marketplace for potential commissions.
