This course is intended for the upper-division student in the criminal justice or economic crime investigation programs, and may be of benefit to human services majors as well. It is a communication-focused course enabling students to function within a bi-lingual setting in the particular situation of law enforcement. Part of the course will entail an intensive review of grammar needed for this level of conversation. The rest of the course will focus on the oral and written communication skills allowing the professional to respond to those whose primary language is Spanish. This portion of the course will focus on conversational skills, documents, and forms used in the field and the development of the necessary vocabulary to respond in a variety of scenarios. This course is intended for students who have a working knowledge of the basic rules of Spanish grammar.
