In this class students will develop their writing skills through various journalistic assignments. Students will begin by learning the basic elements and style of news stories, editorials, interviews, and columns. In addition, students will learn the importance of objectivity, accuracy, and awareness of audience. Because the line between news and entertainment is becoming less defined, the course will also discuss the role of ethics in journalism.
