PSYC 109C - First Year Experience: The Pursuit Of Happiness, Chicago Style

Institution:
Northeastern Illinois University
Subject:
Psychology
Description:
Happiness is a key concern in everybody's life. Not everyone knows how to define it and, even less, how to pursue it. Happiness means different things to different people. Such differences exist across cultures, income levels, professions, and even age brackets. This course explores what psychologists have to say about the meaning and pursuit of happiness across various population groupings in the Chicago metropolitan area. It also looks at how students themselves view happiness. Students will get a hands-on experience at doing some research and acquiring the skills it takes to be a successful college student.
