This course will provide an overview of how teachers and counselors can infuse career development and "real-life" problem-solving skills across the K-14 curriculum. A primary goal of the course is to help educators begin the process of preparing students for tomorrow's world of work. An introduction to developmental theory will lay the foundation for the practical application of strategies and programs to help young people understand lifelong career development and the connection between school and work. Instruction in the schools will be enhanced by understanding the SCANS skills, authentic learning, and the latest classroom technology in learning and career development.
