This course explores the philosophy of interpretive inquiry with special reference to the study of politics. Readings will move between philosophical texts and examples of interpretive analyses of policy. Fields of policy application will include modernization in the Middle East, responses to teenage pregnancy, and subsidized housing programs in American cities.
