Methods, techniques and materials for the early stages of the teaching of reading; the nature of the reading process; the place of reading in the total development of the normal child, and the child with special needs. The developmental reading program with emphasis on "reading to learn" refinement of techniques and enlargement of interests with attention to study skills. Includes work on identification of methods of instruction for children with special needs. (Must be taken concurrently with ECED-355 and ECED-328M)
