The primary purpose of this course is to introduce yoga philosophy and practice as well as art therapy philosophy and practice. The emphasis of yoga philosophy and practice will be on basic understanding of philosophy and practice. The topics included in yoga philosophy and practice are: yogic breathing, concentration, stress reduction, yogic diet, asanas and the power of thought and meditation. The emphasis of Art Therapy will be on the basic understanding of Art Therapy and Practice. The topics in Art Therapy will include collage, carousal drawings, art meditations, and other related activities. Previous experience with art and yoga are not required. This is a course for practicing teachers and other professions who are seeking professional development (CEUs), personal growth and new techniques for use in the classroom or the counseling office. These methods are focused to enhance concentration, reduce stress, and cultivate inner peace.
