Description:

This course introduces the student to the process of audio production. The course also explores sound as an industry and an art form, as well as a tool of self-expression and of story telling. Through a series of production exercises, working individually and in groups, the student becomes familiar with the process of audio production from concept to field recording, to scripting and editing, and then to sharing it with others. Mediated sound is often treated or experienced as a background element in our environment. This course will foreground sound. Students will be provided access to digital audio recorders, microphones, and audio software to produce their projects.
