This course will continue to take a close look at the basic principles of visual communication with a special focus on visual arrangement and treatmeant of verbal communication. If we consider that in Graphic Design the communication is achieved through the use and treatment of images and words, we will focus on the latter keeping in mind that words on a page also take on the characteristics of an image and carry within them both a visual and verbal meaning. This course explores the fundamental principles of typography and its integral role in graphic design. We will discuss the art of designing with type, including the planning of typeface, size, composition, and page layout.
