Course Description: Since its debut in the late 1960s, all of the Star Trek series have presented commentary on American society by raising cultural and ethical questions within the genre of science fiction. This course will examine the phenomena of Star Trek, its place in American pop culture, and explore questions of ethics and leadership theory using examples drawn from each of the five series including the Original Series, the Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise.
