Course Description: Culture can be described as the way of life of a group of people. This way of life includes all aspects of human affairs. China is one of the oldest surviving civilizations in the world today. It possesses 5,000 years of written history. One of the important aspects of Chinese culture is the unique leadership style, which is in contrast with the leadership style of a democratic setting. This course is a survey of this intriguing country. In addition to reading, videos, lectures, and student project presentations are the major components of this course. Pre-requisites: None. Additional Fees: $15 per student for a trip to the Indianapolis Museum of Art and dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Instructor: Yu-Long Ling
