Course Description: This course traces the history of the American Civil War with emphasis on comparing and evaluating various leadership styles. Examples will be taken from traditionally known leaders as well as from the common soldiers. Multicultural regiments and their leaders will be highlighted with discussion of the changing roles played by women, African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics and immigrant soldiers.
