A general science course covering the expanding field of nanotechnology. This course will focus on the science behind the "hype" of this subject. The course will revisit the origins of the field and spotlight the myriad of current advances. Additionally, the social, political, economical, and ethical ramifications of the "nanotech revolution" will be considered. Student will participate in 3-5 laboratory exercises and perhaps a field trip to engage nanotechnology firsthand.
