This interdisciplinary topics seminar will serve to show students how the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences all contribute to an in-depth understanding of a major global issue or world region. This seminar will meet the following learning goals. 1. Students will improve their knowledge of the global issue or world region being studied and its historical context. 2. Students will develop a greater appreciation and understanding of the importance of interdisciplinary. 3. Students will develop the interpersonal skills required to perform leadership tasks. 4. Students will develop a personal ethical framework. 5. Students will develop congnitive abilities that will enable them to engage in creative intellectual work. 6. Students will become proficient in communication skills. This seminar is offered during the spring semester to those students accepted into the Intercultural Honors Experience program. Students who successfully complete this course will receive credit for the intercultural requirement. Students who have other means for satisfying their intercultural requirement may use IHE 100 to satisfy their contemporary issues requirement in the liberal arts core curriculum. Spring.
