This course is the first semester of a two semester sequence in biology for biology and chemistry majors. The purpose of this course is to provide science majors with a basic understanding of biology and aid in the development of critical thinking skills. Topics including Mendelian and population genetics, natural selection and evolution will be discussed. Four hours lecture and discussion, two hours laboratory. Satisfies laboratory science requirement. Fall.
