BIB 502 - Bible Interpretation

Institution:
Saint Louis University-Main Campus
Subject:
Biblical Studies (Aquinas)
Description:
The question "What does the bibical text mean?" Will be the focus as students explore what has become the most significant contemporary approach to bibical interpretation. The Bibble will be viewed variously from the perspectives of the worlds behind, of/in. and in front of the text, using hermeneutical methods ranging from the typological to the historical-critical to the liberationist, post-modern. Textual grounding will be achieved through hermeneutical analyses of select passages in both Testaments. This course is a pre-requisite for all Scripture electives. 3 Hours
