Strong transport helps organizations to be more efficient and effective. The chapters are designed to conceptualize the dimensions of transport. It studies the role of transport in the supply chain by exploring the fundamentals of supply chain management. Topics covered include: Transportation as the critical link in the supply chain, economy and public policy; costing and pricing for transportation, transportation modes, risk management, global transportation planning, third party logistics, and private transportation, fleet management and the issues and challenges of global supply chains.
