This course is designed for health care professionals that are either new to the health care industry or who are unfamiliar with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Understanding dementia begins with an overview of dementia and the specific diseases that may cause dementia. The diagnostic process, dual diagnosis, and progression of Alzheimer's disease will be covered. Medications and non-pharmacologic forms of treatment will also be addressed.
